Vanessa Ritchie-Suarez is a freelance trombonist, performer and teacher based in Sweden. She received her degrees in music/orchestral performance from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London (BMus) and the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg (MFA). Vanessa has played with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Opera, Gothenburg Wind Orchestra, Chineke! Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. More recently, she has been exploring her own voice in the form of contemporary improvisation and how that intersects with her own understanding of politics, gender and race. Vanessa hopes to share her own performance projects with the rest of the world soon.
