Dr. Iantheia Calhoun, born in Chicago, Illinois, has enjoyed many facets of the Arts including music performance, conducting, music technology, composing, arranging, and teaching for over 25 years. Currently, she is a Doctoral Lecturer and Wind Ensemble Conductor for the Aaron Copland School of Music in Flushing Queens, NY. In addition to a Ph.D in Music Education, Iantheia holds masters degrees in Jazz Studies, School Building Administration, Music Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. As a trumpet player, she is well versed in various performance settings including jazz, classical, marching band, and smaller popular music ensembles.
